So I’m pretty upset that no one has ever introduced me to the awesomeness that is Leeland! I was just browsing around youtube and I happened to hear them. I tihnk they’re so awesome! They talk about Jesus and Christianity so explicitly, yet, they don’t sound corny at all. They got that cool rock style that doesnt make me switch it over to the worship or Christian genre in my iTunes.  And the lead singer of Leeland… named Leeland is like 20! I think that’s mad young, considering how old he must’ve been when the band started and his voice is AMAZING! Check em out!

Normally, I don’t big up youtube amatuer gospel singers, or youtube videos about people’s ability to sing.. Why? Cuz I don’t really like them. I don’t know why. I just feel like there’s something concieted about sticking a camera in your face, and singing accapella. I feel, if you’re a singer, and you wanna do a youtube video, put some music behind it. Get a friend to play, or download the instrumental. Usually, the only youtube singer videos I enjoy, are singers who can also play an instrument. That’s hot!

Anywho, that actually has nothing to do with the video I’m about to show you. Well, it kinda does because I think this kid is a BEASTLY singer! I mean Whoooo! BEST male gospel singer I’ve heard on youtube. (I haven’t heard alot, so dont get offended other male youtube singers)  But he has music behind him, so it doesn’t have to do with my first paragraph. However, he might as well NOT have music behind him. Jeez! This guy is so good! His name is Cliff Ross and he’s singing more than anything by Lamar Campbell. Enough of my talking, listen!

Blog Vomit Pt.1

I feel good! Oh man, I’m cruising. Last week, FIT was making me feel pretty down in the dumps, and inadequate, but now, I feel great. I’m finally getting accustomed to the college workload. I think it’s because, today was the first day I got to use my locker. Now, I don’t have to lug around my portfolio case during my breaks, I can walk around FIT or Korea Town with the weight off my shoulders. Also, today was the first day I did work listening to music. My goodness, I totally sped through my projects. I was able to the the class work and the homework. There was an hour left in the period and the teacher told me I can relax but I kept going. Now I feel like I’m ahead of the game and that I have some breathing room. I still have one more class to go but its Math for just an hour, that class is real easy going. I’m feeling real good about. AH! God is great. This song is for You!

This song is great. It’s called “I Need you” by tye Tribbett a gospel artist. I think my Asian Christian friends will like it too. It has like a hillsongish contemporary feel to it. I think it’ll make an awesome praise n worship song. So listen, enjoy, and worship!

For whatever reason, I have the 2008 olympics song stuck in my head!

The song is pretty fly. It features China’s top singers. Even Jackie Chan is in it. The guy can hold a note for those who didn’t know. Now that I give it a second listen, I hear the guitars. I think I’m going to learn it. Don’t be surprised if you see a cover of it!

Big things!

Yesterday, Jez’reel had their very FIRST professionalish recording session. It was like the most spur of the moment thing ever. We just wanted to get our Music Minister’s opinion on the song, so we “perform” it for him and he goes “Hey it sounds real nice”. Then he calls up the sound director and asks if he’s able to record a demo and from then.. it was history!

From Left to right it’s Sam (Me), Kennard, Matthew and Bianca. We did a quite a few takes, and my chord hand was starting to get sore but I think we did pretty good for a first-time spontaneous recording. If you wanna hear it, you’re gonna have to catch me with my laptop on me. Cuz I don’t have an Mp3 player. I don’t feel right sending it over AIM or anything like that, it’s not exactly copywritten yet!
